If You Saw a Rottweiler or American Pitbull in the Street Would You Avoid It?
Wednesday, April 13th, 2011Rottweiler or American Bulldog?
Thursday, March 31st, 2011Which one should I get? and why?
No kids, living on an acreage, would be indoor/outdoor
Rottweiler. (: Rottweilers are awesome dogs, and I think they are a lot nicer looking than American Bulldogs. They are loyal and protective, so they will need training and lots of socialization. Rottweilers have a serious look about them but they are actually a bit goofy and will just want to be with you. They love to play and there exercise requirements aren’t as bad as some other breeds. The biggest thing is make sure you get a Rottie from a good breeder! Rottweilers are prone to Hip Dysplasia and this occurs from bad breeding, so make sure the breeder health tests there dogs for Hips/Elbows, etc. Overall you will not be dissapointed. They are a really friendly breed and just want to be with YOU.
Rottweiler, German Shepherd, or American Bulldog?
Sunday, January 30th, 2011I ruled out the staffordshire bull terrier because i wanted a dog with natural protection. None of them affect my home insurance so rule out that (i checked). I’m not a fan of sheddign so i kind of was edging on the shepherd, drool isn’t the best either, which is what comes out an american bulldog and a rottweiler. which one should i get? I want a dog with protection, i hope shedding is average but i hear american bulldogs are constent, same with german shepherds(i guess i could handle the grooming), but i also have a ranch house, so the rottweiler and american bulldog are kind of bad choices.
i have owned 2 rottwielers in my life and i can assure you that they are the best they are fierless agenst any animal as small as a jack russle and as big as a horse they are extremly protective of home and especally owner rottwielers are also the eaisest to train and american bulldog is not a good guard dog for protection and grerman shepard have extremaly weak bones so better off with the rottwieler
Rottweiler vs American Bulldog?
Tuesday, December 28th, 2010Okay I’m not ask which one would win in a dog fight. I’m asking Rottweiler vs American bulldog on size, strength, intelligence, and bite force. Oh and which one of the two is more likely to win in a tug a war lol
Rottweilers vary in size so much that the whole question becomes void.
Male rotties can range from 30 to 65 kgs depending on their actual frames and genetics.
Add on — Doh – TD’s. ha ha.
Like I wouldn’t know that when I deal with literally thousands.
Ok so maybe you mean – if you take a rottie of a particular size / weight and then put him against an American Bulldog of exactly the same size and weight who would win a tug of war.
Answer – I haven’t got a clue and am not particularly bothered, but I hope the bulldog would win.
Suus – the size / weights given are those bred by responsible people breeding within a breed standard. That probably accounts for about 10 to 15% of the rotties out there. The rest are not always within those accepted sizes bred by people known as byb’s who haven’t got a clue what the words breed standard means.
What Is the Life Expectancy of an American Rottweiler, Male Approx 150 Pounds.?
Monday, December 13th, 2010
10 to 12 years.
German Rottweiler vs. American Rottweiler – some claim there are variations of Rotties, the German Rottweiler and the American Rottweiler. German Rotties are said to be shorter, stockier and have a bigger blockier head, and American Rotties are said to be taller and leggier without as blocky a head. Others claim a Rottweiler is a Rottweiler and there is no such thing as a German Rottie. Some who have stated this argument have said, "a German Rottweiler is one born in Germany and an American Rottweiler is born in America." In any case, there are breeders breeding for the German Rottweiler look, which goes outside the AKC standard, while others are breeding for the American Rottweiler look, sticking to, or closer to, the AKC standard.
What Are the Differences Between a German Rottweiler and an American Rottie?
Wednesday, November 24th, 2010
German Rottweiler is typically a term "Backyard Breeders" use to make their Rottweiler seem more special. Usually they call it a German "Block head" Rottweiler or something along those lines. German Rotties were shorter, stockier and have a bigger blockier head, and American Rotties were taller and leggier without as blocky a head. Also, American Rotties have bigger ears while German Rotties have bigger teeth.

German Line GSD or American Rottweiler for Protection?
Thursday, August 26th, 2010I had two Rottweilers and my male was taken by my ex. I am looking for more of a protection/ easier to train male dog. My female rotteiler is pretty stubborn, although I keep training. I got in touch with a local breeder of German line GSD. All his dogs are specifically trained and come from great lines. Any advice? Go back to my rott or German Shepard with three kids to protect.
get a gun or an alarm system
you protect the dog the dog does not protect you
Why Are People Terrified of Big Dogs, Such as a Rottweiler, a American Bulldog, or a Pitbull.?
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010
I that they are big, but does that mean all of them are bad. I’ve grown up with those kinds of dogs my entire life!
Most reasons are they’d rather listen to how the media portrays them as, rather than the real truth. Mostly people don’t know the true temperament and history. Also, some may have had a bad experience with one, which I understand, but honestly there shouldn’t be a reason to deem the whole entire breed dangerous because of one dogs doing!
@Natty: Excellent Vid!
My Dog a Rottweiler *American* She Is About and a Half Years Old and She Sheds Insanely?
Wednesday, June 16th, 2010Every day she sheads enough hair to make 5 dogs the size of herself, when we pet her her hair seems very thick still. why do you think this is?
It’s the season. Dogs shed much much more this time of year.
The biggest thing you can do is brush, brush, brush. I use the furminator on all my heavy shedders and it works extremely well.
You can also add a fish oil supplement to her food as it promotes skin and coat health.
Switching her to a higher quality food may help as well. And by high quality, I mean Orijen, EVO, Taste of the WIld, etc. not Iams, Pedigree or any of that garbage.
