Does Anyone Here Have a American Pit Bull Terrier/Rottweiler Mix? What Is It Like?

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

I know someone who is adopting one.

What can you tell me about them.

I know with any mutt that no 2 are the same.

How big is yours and what does it look like?

Was it easy to train or difficult.

(This person has raised Rotties their whole life so hopefully they are prepared)
I hear this combination though is terrible so I am a bit concerned…..i hear they are crazy active

bull crap. Isaid it before both breeds are loyle and loveing its all about loving, caring, and training. I know fiirst hand for I raised 2.Inever once had one atempit tobite or turn. they both was with me to avery old age.but sadly there health problems was to much and Ihad to have them put down now number 3 and 4 has aloving home, and give love in return.

I haven't owned one, but I knew a man who did.
The dog was about 4years old &deaf. she was very small for the mix. She had the head of a Rottie, but she was all white. Because she was deaf it's not easy for her to understand commands, but he taught her sign language &she was never out of sight.
    It was sweet.

Rotts & pitts are both very loyal &loving breeds. I'm sure your friend will fall in love quickly!! As with any dog, just make sure to keep up the training.

    Congratulations!

It doesn't matter the size , your friend may have bitten off more the he can chew. That dog is definitely going to need serious training. Both breeds have strong personalities. Though he may be lucky and get one with a good temperament. I wish him luck!

My girl is actually very mellow … almost lazy. (she doesn't get up until 10am) but we go for a good walk every day.

She is about 65lbs and has Rotti coloring with a more APBT build.

She is very sweet, the biggest problem we have had is how a mix like that is percieved but someone who has raised rotties should know all about living with "killer dog" stigma. Also with a mix a lot of BSL that they previously might not have had to deal with will now apply so some checking around re:local laws is needed.

She is one of the smartest dogs we have ever had and was a DREAM to train.

I have one. He will be 2 in July. I also have friends that have two of his brothers. They are all the sweetest and most playful dogs you will ever meet. Mine is a big baby. He’s about 60-65 pounds right now. I love pits, they’re the best dogs in the world. My little mutt was a runt and I rescued him. He’s very smart an loves to run around and act wild. I haven’t neutered him either and he doesn’t have one ounce of viciousness in him. Because he was the runt though, he does have some food aggression issues but he is the sweetest most loyal playful little bigheaded boy in the whole world, and so are his brothers. Pit/Rottie mixes are the best :-]

I own a rottie mixed with a pitt bull, and my dog has a lot of energy. She is very loving, yet is a good protector and will alert you if someone is at the door. Becuase of her energy, she sometimes doesn’t pay attention. She is still growing, and the last time she was weighed, she was 55 lbs.
