please pick one. which one should i get?
None of them.
Apart from being canids, the only thing those breeds have in common is an image created by macho idiots, so it is obviously that image that attracts you.
Macho idiots should NOT own animals.
Even without that macho idiot thing, people who aren't PERSONALLY attracted to and familiar with a specific breed are not yet mature enough to choose & love & train a dog.

Get a German Shepherd Dog. They are intelligent, loyal and affectionate. And they can be trained for some awesome work in agilty, search and rescue or drug sniffing.

I dont know you, or your life style, so i cant really pick a dog for you. If you plan on getting one, go to you local shelter, and pick one that is right for you.
For me, i would choose a German Shepard, because i used to have a mutt with Shepard in it, and she was the best doggy ever. My second choice would be Doberman.
References :
I would choose the Dobe as they are highly intelligent and easily trainable. Plus you don't have to contend with the long fur that you would need to brush and groom. Dobes do shed but they are easy to manage and groom

Raised, trained and showed Dobermans for many years.
I think we'd need to know more about your circumstances!!! German shepherds are good dogs but can come unruly without proper training(like all dogs).
I love bull breeds but i think you should have experience in them first as they need a strong leader. I if i were you i'd do the research on all of them and see which ones suit you best

It really depends on your home life and how much time you have to spend with a dog. None of these are really docile breeds and to make exceptional pets they will all need to be trained strictly. If you are looking for a watchdog why not a great dane? Huge beautiful dog with a sweet personality.
Out of these, a german shepherd is the best companion dog though Rottweilers can be gentle giants if you spend a lot of time with them. Because I have had one before and I have the time to properly train one I would chose a Rottweiler.
Btw, Im pretty sure a "bull terrier" and a "pit bull" are the same thing. Pit bulls full breed name is the american put bull terrier. You may have meant an Am Staff or AmericanStratfordd Terrier which is very similar to a pit bull but not as intense in aggression.

German shepherd, they are EXTREMELY intelligent (this is good for potty training and teaching tricks and etc.), very sweet and loving, and they are loyal, and make great guard dogs.

if i were you i would get the german shepard, their sweet, loyal, and very pretty dogs.
but it also depends on your home life. all these dogs need lots of training, and lots of room to run. also german shepherd shed.. alot! do you have the time to drush him?
can you be a good trainer to these dogs, and also a strong leader?
the bull terrier is really little, and has some heath problems, also, they breath really loud and always have to be kept at the right tempt.
rottweiler's have been known to turn on people, sense they have been breed for so long and with stupid people, some rotts have a brian that is almost too big fro its head, and sometime their brain and be compressed, and they will turn on you, and anyone else..
american pit bull have a bad reputation all together and they are almost not worth the trouble..where i live four pit bulls just recently ripped a horse apart and now if anyone see's an unattended pit, they call animal control and im pretty sure animal control doesnt try to get them a new home. so they are a lot to handle.
and doberman's are pretty, but they are really strong, and hard to handle, also they can turn on you also. and they take a lot to train.
so in the end, i would go with the shepherd.

Depends on your lifestyle and what you are looking for in the dog. I currently have a Doberman. Had a Rottie as a foster they both were awesome. Had both of them during the same time frame and my kids 4, 11 and 14 love them My doberman is a sweetheart sleeps with my 4 yr old every night. Loyal, loving and highly intelliegnt. Any of the dogs would be a good addition to a family. I just suggest you read up on the breed to see how much exercise they need. Please spay/neuter to keep unwanted puppies off of the street and make sure you socialize your new family member. ALL dogs no matter what breed will display bad personalities if not proper socialized.

You've just asked this question and put in another couple of breeds.
Research the breeds as stated.
To be honest I'd get something like a cavalier king charles spaniel if I were you, as it sounds as if you are a first time owner and as such shouldn't have any of the above.
A CKC would be very easy to handle.
References :
They are pretty different dogs, personality wise, so it is hard to say which one is more suited to you and your lifestyle.

Trish, I really don't know where you got your 'facts' but they are indeed completely wrong. I suggest you actually do some research before damning these dogs due to the myths you stupidly believe.

Get a Dobie. Very intelligent and loyal breed. They make great family dogs. They like to be where ever their masters at. The dobie is also good guard dog. Very easy breed to train. Make sure you get one from a good bloodline. It may cost you some money, but you get whay you pay for. Thats if you decide to get one.
