I am with rottie rescue UK and we are asked to take 5 to 10 dogs A DAY because they are so overbred. Go to google and put in "rottweiler puppies" and you will find loads of litters for sale. So you think well they must be selling them then ? WRONG… we end up with half litters in rescue because the people can't sell them.

Then we end up with such badly bred ones that people are spending thousands on their dogs with problems. And I mean that. A friend of mine was on £12,000 before the last op on her little rescue pup of just one year old because of bad breeding and wrong genetics.
One of ours in having an operation right at this moment for a cruciate repair - a lot of that down to bad genetics and wrong angulation of the knees ……….. If you're thinking "What's she going on about" then you do not know enough to breed anything.

WE DO NOT NEED ANY MORE ROTTWEILERS.

What Info….. No. 1 thing is that they need an experienced handler and they need correct nurturing.

It really depends you can even get some for free. If you want a well bred one then i would go from £400-£600 or if it's a muscular german line rottweiller you pay from £600-£800. Good luck with raising your future dog.

8 weeks is the general rule of thumb. A reputable breeder will want to keep the puppies 10-12 weeks…(usually closer to 10) so that the puppies can socialize within their litter and learn from siblings and mom. The breeder should also begin handling them and showing them general good manners and basic obedience…no, no one expects them to be perfectly trained at that age, but a good breeder will handle the pups so as to set the stage for a balanced and well mannered pet.

First there are absolutely no black boxers… Boxer are either fawn, Brindle or White that's it

Rottweilers are black with rust or mahogany marking

If you can't afford to pay for a dog from a reputable breeder than save one from a rescue

Around 4 weeks is a good age to introduce them to some puppy mash. With their teeth coming in mom isn't going to want to nurse them much longer and will start weaning them on her own. For puppy mash I use 3 cups puppy food, puppy formula, puppy soft food, and warm water(this is enough for 9 medium sized dog puppies you might need to add extra). You can blend it in a blender for fast puppy mush. You should let it get to the consistency of baby cereal. Spend time introducing each puppy alone to the food for the first few times. My puppies knew what to do with it and I let the mom come back in after all of the puppies are done and clean up. Mom cleans the puppies and eats any leftover food the puppy food is good for a nursing momma dog. Each week you can increase the consistency until they are eating it dry.

Hi I am in Alabama also. You may get alot of remarks about buying dogs on here that is the way it is but I have a good suggestion. Have you tried they Rott rescue websites. You still have to pay an adoption fee but you rescue one that needs a home. Most are adult dogs but you can find a puppy sometimes.
