Is There Such Thing as AKC Registered German Rottweiler Puppies?

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

Because…I’m clearly seeing an ad for one and…AKC.org is not listing this "breed" like I assumed it wouldn’t.

Just wanting to double check lol

A rottie and german shepherd puppy would be a mutt. Not a registered AKC breed.

no, only purebred dogs are registered. maybe one or both parents are purebred, but the offspring cannot be

That is a very popular breed I’ve noticed, but it’s just a german shepherd/rot mix. The AKC is really picky with mixed dogs, so I doubt that it’s registered.

There’s no such thing, it’s just a label people give to make their Rottweilers seem more special. The breed is just Rottweiler.

I don’t believe its a "real" breed – however, I had pet store in town try to "sell" me a German Rottweiler for about $900. They playing it off like a long-haired rotty.

They never mentioned that it was a GSD crossed with a Rotty – just that it was a longer haired.

I wouldn’t buy one though…unless its from a shelter. i can’t imagine this "breed" is any different that the "poo" breeds out there.

I don’t think there is such a thing ( i mean i know that there’s such a breed, but just not AKC registered. ) Because I believe that AKC only takes Purebreds. But German Rotty’s are really cute!

Do you mean "German bred" Rottweiler? As opposed to "American bred"? There is a slight difference if that’s the case but they are ALL registered under "Rottweiler" and the AKC does not recognize any difference between the lines.

    German Bred:

    American Bred:

As said, not much difference. Only bloodlines and some looks. German just refers to it being German bloodline more so than "American" bred types.

No such thing as a breed of German (SHEPHERD) Rottweiler (also known to be pawned off as German Rottweiler or Rottweiler Shepherd) – that is merely a mutt.

Just leave off the German part, and you got it.

You see AKC could care less what country the blood lines come from.

Rottweilers originated from Germany, so all Rottweilers are "German Rottweilers".

I wouldn’t buy from this breeder, they are using the word "German" just like people use "King" or "Teacup" or "micro"… to sucker people in.

The answer is No, The parents could be AKC reg. if their pure breed dogs. but the puppy is a mix breed SO it’s classified a mutt.

Only if IMPORTED would any braggart fool use a modifier like that.

If some idiot can’t even use the CORRECT name for threir breed..they’re PROVEN BYBs!
