   The professionally trained one, hands down.

   No dog is naturally a good "guard dog" in terms of protection work – any dog will fuss but a professional needs to train to dog for it to know how to react in situations that need the trained abilities.

   There is no home training, either. IT’s a find line between guarding or protection and aggressive or possessive behavior, and only a professional with years of experience can find that line and walk it. A general dog owner would more than likely create an aggressive animal that will eventually bite the wrong person.

   In terms of which breed, there is no "best breed" – it takes a certain personality and drive to do this work and not all dogs have it. Only a professional can determine if a dog has what it takes to be a guard or protection dog….

   i had a doberman and it was a great guard dog and a great friend to me. hated everyone else though so its not good for a family iwould say.

   They are all fairly good, it depends on the dog itself. For example, someone may attain a Shepherd puppy to compete in Schutzhund, but it might turn out to be really timid and be scared if the protection bit.

   Overall, I would say the Shepherd and Rottie would be best though.

   i would say mastiff because their so big.seen a lady at my vet bring one in 162 lbs is what it weighed big as a shetland pony. gypsy my pom wanted to take him on he would have ate her in one bite.im 5 ft 2 in height this dogs back was up to my hips standing on all 4s
