Rottweiler Puppies Bite Hard

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

Rottweiler Puppies Bite Hard

Once you decided which breeder is right for you, you will have entered into a life long relationship with both the Rottweiler puppy you are about to buy and the Rottweiler breeder you are buying it from

Though the dogs of the Rottweiler breed are quite rugged the time they are fully grown, the Rottweiler puppies are like some fur balls in their first weeks of life and they will necessitate your constant attention and care for at least the first two years of their lives, until they turn into adult dogs and their character will be formed through your training. The rottweiler puppies are easy to train, though they require some time. The constant attempt to reach the alpha position in the pack, meaning your family, is a main personality trait of the dogs of this breed, so their training requires more time, until they are determined to comply with what they are asked to do.

Once the Rottweiler puppies understand who the alpha male or female is in the house, they will be easy to mold as long as you are treating them right. A Rottweiler dog cannot be intimidated and many of them get behavioral problems due to inadequate training, as their masters use soft and indecisive handing or, on the other extreme, abusive and harsh behavior.

House Training Should Be First Lesson

The first thing that needs to be taught to the Rottweiler pup is house training and initially, you will find that the Rottweiler puppy needs to go every two to three hours. As they are clean animals, the easiest way to train them is to keep them in their kennel and first thing out, lead them to the litter place. You will need lots of patience and control to train your Rottweiler puppy. If you handle it well, the house training of your puppy will last six months.

You should be aware that the Rottweiler puppy loves to use his mouth a lot. He will bite whatever he can reach with his mouth and this includes your feet, hands, furniture, and any other thing you have left on the floor. They will have to be admonished every time they are found biting things, and a loud howl from you or any humans will indicate they are biting you. If verbal warning is not good enough, physical admonition, like a tap with the newspaper roll would be enough.

As the owners will be able to fully manage rottweiler puppies only after two years of training, don’t allow the presence of small children too close of them. Be careful that no child under the age of seven is near your Rottweiler puppy. As a Rottweiler puppy is constantly testing the ranking in its family, children will not be given the responsibility of the dog, as it will sense the child’s inability of controlling it and will show his dominance, biting the child.

There is a lot to do in order to prepare your house and yourself for these gorgeous animals, so you need to learn more about the basics of raising a Rottweiler puppy and taking good care of it.

You need to be patient to train rottweiler puppies. Start the training of your Rottweiler puppy with house training. The rottweiler puppies are quite hard to restrain.

What Is the Best Food for 1-2months Old Rottweiler Puppies?

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

You want a food that is grain free and has no byproducts, corn, or fillers. As well, you don’t want a food that is terribly high in protein as it’s hard on young puppies. I would wait until about 6 months to feed a high protein food (if you’re going to feed one).

Go to www.dogfoodadvisor.com and pick a 4-5 star food that you can afford. Try to find a puppy formula, if not just soak the food in water to make it easier on your dog’s teeth. Note that these foods often seem expensive but, because they aren’t full of fillers like the cheaper brands, your dog will eat less. As well, you’ll save a lot of money in vet bills!

When Do Rottweiler Puppies Begin to Open Their Eyes?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

My dog just gave birth on April,1,2010 and I am anxious to see the puppies withe their eyes open. At what age should their eyes open? Also what age will they start to walk.(FYI they are crawling a little bit and they are moving pretty fast so i am just wondering when will they start walking around the house?)

They aren’t different from any other breed, they all start to open their eyes around 14 days old, it will start slowly so when you see little slits don’t try to open them for them, let it happen naturally. They will be running aroun the house around 4 weeks, they will wobble and crawl until then.

What Traits to Look for While Selecting Male Doberman and Rottweiler Puppies?

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011

while selecting a male doberman or a rottweiler puppy from a litter of pups, what all qualities should i look for?

If you are purchasing a Dobermann from one of the good Dobermann kennels that breed tightly to the standard, then depending on what can be gauged of the individual pup’s temperament, potential & the purpose of owners in purchasing a Dobermann, the each pup will be matched to the best home.

It may be that there will be more than one male Dobermann in the litter that would be suitable to the home you have, in which case the breeder would allow you to select your preferred pup.

What you should want to see is documentation that the sire & dam were health tested & had good results for:
DNA test for one the gene mutations responsible for causing DCM [heart failure - which is the silent killer in the breed]
Thyroid
Von Wellibrands [haemophilia]
Hip Dysplasia [joints]

Also ask what the breeder does to prove that their dogs are good representatives of the breed [work, sport, show - not just from *good lines* which is trading on the achievements of another kennel.
Finally judge the character of the dam. It is a characteristic of the breed to be aloof with strangers, but not shy or snappy [not unusual for the sire not to be available]

An example of a good breeder.

Where Can I Get Some Rottweiler Puppies?

Monday, February 28th, 2011

i would like to know a website that i can get rottweiler puppies… or a place were i can get a puppy, i am willing to pay around $150-300 dollars. i don’t want to pay 650 for a dog… it would be cool if the rottweiler pup was pure bred. (I would want a male, but a female is also good for me.) thanks so much!
:)
in Denver Colorado or Colorado Springs area would help.

okay first off, any Rottweiler under about 700-$$1,000 from a breeder is going to be a BADLY BRED (backyard bred) dog….and please don’t support backyard breeders as all they are is scummy greedy morons. You DO NOT want to buy a poorly bred rottweiler puppy from a BYB since bad breeding with this breed poses threats such as a bad tempered dog. Reputable breeders will not sell even a pet quality rottie for under $700 roughly speaking.

I did you a favor and typed in your location (Denver CO) into this site called Petfinder.com" This site shows you 3,286 adoptable rottie’s and rott mixes….puppies to adults.

Here is the link to your locations and the dogs currently available:

http://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?pet_breed=Rottweiler&animal_type=Dog&location=Denver+CO

Please adopt and save a life.

I got my little mix off of petfinder and I wouldn’t trade him for any other dog in the world!

Please Tell Me the Formular for Preparing a Balance Diet for My Rottweiler Puppies Locally.?

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

I want to learn how to prepare my dog food, i don’t want to use tinned dog-food. thanks

Reach into the frig, remove a piece of raw chicken.
Give it to the dog.

I cannot recommend feeding any of the commercial varieties of meat-flavored baked paste with chemicals added. Instead, why not feed your dog actual food? The dog’s natural diet is raw meat on the bone. Try it. The dog will love it, the diet will help him teethe properly as a pup, satisfy his lifelong need to chew, keep his teeth clean and his feces innocuous.

The basic idea is to approximate a wild diet as closely as possible; raw meat on the bone and small amounts of organ meat [liver is most important, but also kidneys, pancreas, spleen, lungs and what is called green tripe]. Amount to feed is calculated as 2-3% of the dog’s ideal adult body weight. Your veterinarian can help you estimate that; then you just do the math. You don’t have to be exact; all amounts are to be averaged over a week or two. Dogs [not toys or puppies] that get big, complicated meals sometimes will eat for two days and then not again for five. All perfectly normal.

Most raw feeders that I’ve read have started their dogs on chicken: it is readily available and inexpensive, plus it is antibiotic- and hormone-free. The fat content is easy to control by how much of the skin you remove.

No grain, vegetable or fruit is a significant part of a grey wolf’s diet. Dogs are genetically grey wolves.

Besides being unnatural, lately it is becoming more and more clear that they simply are not safe:

How Much Would I Get for a Pitbull/rottweiler Puppies?

Monday, December 6th, 2010

They are 8 weeks old, Heathy, they don’t have any shot ect, and they are not mutts.

Nothing, their welfare and spaying should be your most concern.

Finding good homes for your puppies should be one of your highest priorities. This is not an easy task but it is a very rewarding one. Matching the right dog with the right family is a great feeling! Responsible breeders try to have a list of interested buyers before they do the breeding — or at least before they whelp the litter. As stated before, there is a serious pet overpopulation problem in this country and no litter should be bred without a purpose. That purpose should include providing wanted puppies to good homes.

The most effective way to find homes is by connecting into the network of breeders in your area. This is best done by finding a breed or kennel club in your area, joining, becoming active, and taking advantage of their resources. Many clubs publish litter listings in their newsletters and then club members refer callers to those litters. This is another way that your active participation in showing, training, and working your dog makes you a better breeder. By building a network of resources doing these activities, you open yourself up to puppy referrals.

Advertising can be useful but should be done with care. Many breeders advertise upcoming litters in breed publications. Newspaper ads should be considered a last resort as you should have homes lined up before the puppies are born.

When word gets out that you are doing a breeding, you’ll probably start getting phone calls from potential buyers. You should carefully screen these buyers over the telephone and ideally in person before putting them on your puppy list. The type of information you should be trying to get from the buyers should focus on their potential as dog owners. Try to evaluate their intentions and their understanding of what is involved in raising, training, and caring a dog. You should try to evaluate their home in terms of things like whether or not they have a fenced yard, if they will be able to provide the type of exercise appropriate to the dog. If your breed has special grooming considerations, you should make sure that they understand these as well.

Part of your job as a breeder is acting as a counselor of sorts to your puppy buyers. In addition to the above information, you’ll want to make sure they understand all the health concerns for your breed. If they don’t ask the right questions, you should be prepared to fill them in on the information while explaining everything you have done to avoid these problems. Also, make sure that a puppy is the right choice for them. When screening puppy buyers, one ends up referring a lot of them to Rescue organizations if they don’t have the time or energy to raise a young puppy.

Most breeders provide a packet of information with their puppies. These packets include the bill of sale, any health guarantees (as discussed below), details on what the dog should be fed, details on what shots and worming the dog has been given, etc. Puppy packets can also include descriptions of the breed, pedigrees, photos and health clearances on the parents, information on training, and other items of interest.

A breeder should be willing to make a lifelong commitment to the puppies they produce. They should be willing to answer questions or concerns at any time in the dog’s life. Many breeders make a further commitment to take back a dog at any time in the future should the owner’s be unable to keep the dog. People’s lives can change with little or no notice and dog’s sometimes suffer. Rather than seeing one of their puppies end up in the pound, breeders often put a "right of first refusal" into their contracts.
