Should We Go and Adopt a Dog?

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

The Humane Society in my area is selling dogs for $17.76 (sorta like a 4th of july sale) and they have a German Shepherd there (a rarity in my area) that my family wants to adopt. Then there is another shelter that has fallen on hard times I guess and their dogs are free. They have a Rottweiler (again a rarity) that my family also wants to adopt. BUT our pit bull is pregnant, she is only due to have 5 puppies though. There’s no telling how long these dogs will be available so if we want one of these dogs we have to decide, well now. Do you think it’ll be alright to buy another dog while our current dog is pregnant? And yes she will be spayed when the puppies are gone.

Provided you can afford the vet bills and have a home for the expected pups. Both dogs you are considering adopting need a lot of space, so please have a large fenced backyard before you take either of them.

Also, have them spayed or neutered as soon as you get them.

it would be ok to get another dog but you have to keep them separated until the pups are about 2 months because the mother will be protective of her pups

I would wait intil the puppies have found new homes and you female is spayed. And don’t get the dog because its rare get it because is the right temperament

Introducing another dog into the "pack" when the female is pregnant is not a good idea. Wait until the litter arrives and then get another dog after the puppies are gone.

You should probably wait until the puppies are born before you go and get another dog. It could cause problems.
