She bit someone while going for a walk with her stupid owner my former best friend….
What can I do legally too fight too save this mother pooch, who does not deserve to die.
I will do what ever it takes, money is not a problem.
PLEASE NOTE:my former best friend gave me custody and rights…so now what?
This must not be the first time she has bitten someone if she is being euthanized. I would call the humane society or ASPCA.

if you can show that she was provoked…it may help her.

I would contact the ASPCA and explain the situation..and ask them for advice! BEST OF LUCK:(

dogs that bite, esp but not only breeds like rottweilers, die for their crimes, so to speak. there is no 2nd chance – the dog has already proven itself to be dangerous, and the liability issues of letting it bite again are not anything anyone will take on.
sorry, but at least you will have umpteen pups to take care of.

1. Legally you have alot of lean here UNLESS this dog has bit before. If not then you can appeal the decision with the dog wardon that seized her.
2. You must be able to prove this dog is not viscious in anyway. They will do many tests on her to establish this, however part of that is on you. You have to show you know how to handle this dog.
3. You may have to pay resitution to the victim of the attack.
4. You will likely have to sign an affidavit that affirms your ownership and responcibility for this dog.
In most cases one bite wont get a dog put down. Sounds more like your friend just bailed on the dog. Go to the wardon and speak with him/her personally and make a formal appeal for the life of this dog. If however it is visicious I advice against adopting this dog.
**Your friend has nothing to do with this dog now that it was siezed, therefore she can’t give you "custody" or ownership. Ownership now belongs to the county in which you live.
**Act quick they don’t tend to be slow about putting animals down.

Careful, giving you custody and rights might also get you a lawsuit and bills from the person the dog bit.
Dogs normally are not euthanized after the first bite, does the dog have a prior record that put the owners on notice of it being a vicious dog? Find out from the prior owners, or better yet the city, what citations have been issued against the dog/owners. If the dog has a wrap sheet, there may not be anything you can do, but a first bite does not normally cause a dog to be euthanized, especially if you can show the dog has been relocated and is properly secured and muzzled when walked.
