My mom brought home a 2 months old Rottweiler puppy yesterday. We named her "Yuri" but seemingly, she's not used to it yet. How do I make her respond to her name more easier?
When i first bought my puppy, I was wondering the same thing. He never answered to his name. Being so young though, a lot of things may be overwhelming for these puppies Things like learning their name take time.
The trick is to use the dogs name a lot. Use it when you pat her and when you feed her. Basically use it when you do anything with her. Be careful to only use the dogs name when you are actually talking to it, otherwise she may think that it is just another word and not respond to it. It will take maybe 2-3 weeks for a dog to learn their name (this usually depends on your dog). All you have to do is be patient with her and to use its name constantly.
One other thing that can help is to start training with your dog. Only the simple stuff like sit and drop should you teach them at the moment but it will help with future training and help it learn its name. Just start slow with the training keeping it short so your puppy does not become bored. Use an incentive like a treat or her favourite toy which will help the learning process.

Keep calling her by her name. She'll eventually learn. It just takes time. Puppies don't learn overnight. You have to have patience.

Just to be sure, check if she's not deaf! Does she respond to loud noises? If she does, then just keep calling her by her name til she gets it!

Training:
-Hold a small treat in front of her face while saying Yuri; give her the treat.
-Hold another treat a further back and say Yuri. If your dog goes for it, reward her with the treat.
-Now just say Yuri with a treat in your hand at a good 1 1/2 foot distance. Repeat 2nd step.
-Be sure to always go a little further away as she progresses and picks up that Yuri is followed by a treat, which means her focus is on YOU.
-Switch it up a bit and go your yard and hide in a place where she can see you, but she'd have to run a distance to get to you. Call her name and when she comes, reward her with treats and praise.
Rotties are extremely intelligent and should pick up her name fairly quick! Good luck(;

As you talk to her, she will learn. You have only had her for a day.

You need to help her associate her name with good things. Have her in a low distraction environment, like inside with no people or other animals around. Say her name in a upbeat, happy voice – if she looks your way or comes over give her a pat/treat. If she doesn't, wait 30sec and try again. Do this every day at least 5 times and she will pick it up very quickly. When she is looking at you when you say her name 9/10 times then you can reduce the amount of times you give her a treat/pat and give her verbal praise instead. Don't reduce the pat/treat reward too soon otherwise she will go backwards.
Puppy preschool is great for young pups as it socialises them with other pups, people and is a good place to learn some basic obedience and strengthen your bond with the pup. Why not enroll her in a class and get lots of useful training tips?

just keep calling her that everytime you call her.. even if she doesn't look at you, she will after a while.. same with babies.. they dont respond right away, it takes time for them to realize that's their name.. so just keep calling your dog the name you picked out and she'll respond to it soon
it will take about a month if not less for them to know that's their name.. just be persistant and loving and when you play with them say their name… like be like "hi yuri" "you're so cute yuri" whatever you wanna say, just say it often..
hope my answer helped

i have 2 dogs, both took time to respond to their name, but i kept calling them by the name i gave them and they responded to it..
Try Clicker training. The clicker gets there attention. You click the same time you say her name. When she comes to you give her a small treat. Break a regular one up. (If you give her whole ones she will get full and won't come) She will associate her name with something positive. After a few days you won't have to use the clicker. We use it for all our training. Do this for 5 minutes a couple times a day. This works well for potty training too. When they do their business outside, IMMEDIATELY, click and treat. Do not use her name for punishment. Use things like bad jump, or bad potty. Use good potty or good sit and the word becomes a click. Use hand singles with one word labels. Sit, Down, Drop, stay. Training should take a few weeks and 20 minutes a day. Same thing with leashes and such. We don't put ours on while they are excited. We have four weenies. We say bye-bye and they line up at the door at a sit. They also wait their turn to get in and out of the car.

Oh Lordy! She is a baby who has only been in your house for one day.
If you, as a baby, were taken to a strangers house with strange people who didn't speak a word of english, as dogs don't – how do you think you would go?
Just call your puppy to you in a gentle voice, she'll learn.
You need to have realistic expectations with your puppy or your will have a heap of self inflicted problems. Like people, dogs take time to learn things.
In fact they are a darn site smarter and quicker learners than people are. They don't speak our language and yet are able to respond to our commands. How good is that?

call her by her name but use a treat as an incentive, hold the treat near your face when you call out so she gets used to looking up at you when she hears the word yuri. After about 30 or 40 times with the treat giving her it every time she looks up at yuri swap the treat for a toy and when she looks up play a game or give her a treat this way she doesn't think yuri means food and unlike just plain repetition it doesn't become just another word that doesn't mean anything. Only start teaching her to come back and other tricks (apart from sit) when you are sure she knows what her name is.
you'd be surprised how many adult dogs don't even know their own name.

Repition!! Use food reward so she catches on faster. Say her name and if she looks, say good girl and give her a treat(piece of chicken/cheese) Keep repeating this routine. Call her name as u enter the room she's in. Be patient but consistent. Depending on intelligence level is how quickly they learn. U also need to be overly enthusiastic when praising her for good behavior. This reinforces the lesson learned and will train her to obey commands. Gradually wean her off of food rewards and replace with ur enthusiastic appraisel. Not a bad idea in attending basic obedience training so that u get the proper tools/methods to train ur pup.

Be patient! She's a baby! LOVE her and reward her with a kiss and a tummy rub. Play with her, and use her name. She'll get it. But not in one day, for goodness sake!

keep calling her name and whenever she comes over to you or shows and interest when you call her, give her a treat. they learn quicker that way.
