How much food does a rottweiler puppy eat? I am adopting a 11 week old rottie and wanted a sense of how much food should be bought and what to expect. This is my first dog so I am getting all the info I can to prepare for her arrival.

for example:
8-12wk 1-5lb puppy = 3 cups day
8-12wk 5-15lb puppy = 2.5 cups day
8-12wk 15-25lb puppy = 2 cups day

It actually depends on the type of food you are feeding her. Each brand has its own recommendations which are listed on the bag. I would start with the guidelines on the bag and she how she does. Puppies should eat 3-4 times a day and they need a high quality food to grow. Because a rottie is a large breed dog, ensure that you are feeding her a large breed puppy food. Quality brands will enable you to feed less because there is less filler in the food than grocery store brands of food (less food in = less poop out). Also, remember that dry foods are complete and balanced diets and you should never supplement! Giving a large breed puppy calcium for their growing bones actually causes bone deformities!

About 5 pounds of dry a week and a half can a day by itself for dinner .keep the bowl filled with dry. you just have to see. WhAt her appetite will be like.

Puppies need to eat a lot–and not too much. You should be able to feel but not see their ribs, and they should have a visible waist when you look down at them. In general, you should follow the guidelines on the back of the bag of dog food, and adjust up or down depending on your puppy’s appetite and body condition.
