I’m on 100% disability & my Female Rottweiler just went to sleep after being with me for 12.5 years, she is the love in my life & I will never be able to replace her but I ask (because of my sister) is there a way for me to again be able to find another female rottweiler puppy I can afford? Thank you.

Sure, there are rescue groups and many purebred come through shelters everyday. You can even put in a request for a certain type of dog and when one comes in many shelters will call you. GOOD LUCK!

play dead, high five, roll over and shake are real fun to do when someone is scared of your dog. people are more inclined to feel safe and pet my GSD when she does tricks like that.

You can buy a Rottweiler for £200 upwards.
You can buy a well bred Rottweiler for £600 – £800.

I am getting a female Rottweiler in a month and I cannot come up with a good name for her. I want it to be inspired by Music in some way. I have already come up with Sexy Sadie after the Beatles song and Joplin after Janis Joplin… Im welcoming any suggestions!

I just got a rotti pup a few weeks ago. Shes almost 3 months old. What are some good websites/books to train her to be nice and gentle but at the same time protect my family. I dont want to hire a trainer and pay too much.

I feel it is best, especially with a rottie, to train them yourself anyways.
To train a rottie, it’s all about the tone of voice you use. You punish with your voice and you praise with your voice.
Rotties are very willing to learn, and are fairly easy to train if you train them correctly, which must be done from the beginning and as soon as possible.
Well, back to training. When your girl does something bad, you need use a very firm, strict, deep voice to correct her. Every mistake MUST be corrected, every little thing. The rottie is a breed that must have a leader, so you MUST assert yourself and be the leader. No dog should be hit, but no dog should go without punishment, and the rottie is a breed that you can’t let one little thing go because once you let one thing go, they will start asserting themself, which is how you will end up with a bad rottie. You must show this dog you are her leader.
I already said about punishing, so lets talk about praise. When your girl does something good, you need to use a very high, happy tone to show her you are happy with her. If you train with your tone, she will love to get you to use your happy voice, because rotties strive to please their leader, so make sure you use a very happy tone to praise her.
as long as you train this way, i guarantee you will have an excellent rottweiler.

Im just thinking is there is any problems with this as im looking soon to get one preferably at the same time has anyone done this? is it ok to do so?

Not a good idea. The fact that you’re asking the question shows you don’t have much dog experience. If you did, you’d know how very, very time consuming it is to raise a puppy correctly. They need a lot of time devoted to them – training, exercise, training, grooming, training, playing, training. You get the idea.

And they will, as someone’s already said, become bonded with each other, not you.

i have rottweiler puppy which is around 4 months old, for about 1 half months he had been eating Science Plan Puppy Large Breed Food, alot of people have told royal canine is better. Is this true and why. Should i stick to Hill's.My puppys coat is really shiny and is growing well.

Both Science Plan and Royal Canin are low quality dog foods, actually. They may be expensive, but if you look at the ingredients, they are far from impressive. Vets recommend them because they get kickbacks from the companies for doing so, plus vets actually get /very/ little training on pet nutrition during their schooling.

You want something with meat as the first ingredient and without by-products, dyes, synthetic preservatives, or corn (called maize in UK pet foods it seems) preferably. These look pretty good:

No mention of corn ingredient we saw previously. It even goes so far as to say at the bottom:

"We want to guarantee you that our food is made in Wisconsin and is free of any wheat, wheat gluten, corn, or corn gluten and we use the whole rice in our recipe, no parts or by-products are used and nothing is shipped in from other countries."

Edit x3: Kate is right, a puppy as big as a Rottie should have been on adult food from the start. Puppies this big should not be fed on puppy food at all. I'd switch him/her over to an adult formula.

Nope, I dont know of any reputable breeder who wouldnt likely have a waiting list and who wouldnt turn you down by stating you need him by a certain time!!!
