Me and my fiance have to rescue 2 dogs from the pound very soon for the college we will be attending (we are becoming professional dog trainers and you have to have your own young dog) and I’m getting a rottweiler. They’ve always been my favorite breed 
anywho I’m pretty sure i want to name her Vanessa if I do end up getting a girl. You guys like or no?
note: I’m getting a rottweiler because the pound always has an abundance of them where I live. plus I love them and not a lot of people want them around here.

It’s not a name I’d name my female Rottweiler. It sounds like a name to me that somebody would name their precious pocket pup. But she will be yours and you don’t need my approval. I applaud you for rescuing a dog in need.

I love Rottweilers they are the gentlest dogs in the right hands. I know a rottie who hides when he sees my small dog. What a shame there are so many rotties in the pound where you live. people are giving them up because they are not training them and they become unruly.

You probably already know but whenever we name a dog it always gets cut down to something shorter, I can see Vanessa getting cut down the just Nessa or Nessie, both of which still sound pretty good to me!

Vaness is a nice name. We have a Rott and we named her Dot, just because of the cute little brown dots Rotties have on their foreheads. I think if a name makes you smile, that that is the perfect name for your dog.
Be prepared to be VERY patient and VERY consistent with that dog. Rotties are brilliant and can be trained to do anything, but on the other hand they are stubborn and have minds of their own. You have to always remind them who is in charge and who is the leader of the pack (You!) and not let them get away with anything. Investing te time and effort with your Rottie will be time well spent.
