Rottweiler Rescue Needed?

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

I have a 21 month old Male Rottie, who has recently displayed some mild aggresion issues. We have a small child in the house and don’t want to risk any injury. If we can’t find him a new home I’d like to find a Rescue somewhere that will take him, but I can’t find anything that says they rescue, all I can find are rescues that adopt out. Any ideas if there are any around Georgia?

That’s what rescue does. Rescue assesses the dog, teaches it some manners and basic obedience and when the dog is ready it’s adopted out to a suitable new owner.

If rescue took in dogs and kept them permanently they would have to close their doors. There is a limit to how many dogs rescue can take. As the dogs are adopted out it makes room for rescue to take in more dogs in need.

Could you explain what mild aggression issues the dog has?
Has the dog had any obedience training so he knows his boundaries?
Is he an inside dog or does he live outside?

I do Rottweiler rescue but I don’t live in USA so am not of much help to you.

From everything I have read about Rotties, aggression can happen if you don’t work with him. They are very intelligent dogs and can be trained to avoid any such problems. I suggest you get a dog trainer. This dog is you responsibility for its entire live, don’t give him up at the first sign of a problem.
