Second Chance

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

Fostering is the most important thing to a rescue organization! Without foster homes, the rescue can not bring in a dog to save, fostering saves a dog’s life. I made this video for North Carolina Rottweiler Rescue located in Raleigh, North Carolina as a “Thank You” since I found my best friend, who I rescued on Jan 3, 2003!! Save a Rottweiler, Foster Today!! Contact NCRR at http://ncrottierescue.net/ to foster a rottweiler!! Thank you!!

    This made me cry …
This made me cry like a baby and smile. I have rescued all my dogs. I have never regretted it. Thank you for all you do! I love rottweilers, it makes me sad to know people abuse and mistreat them. I would take them all in if my husband didn’t stop me!

    I just finished …
I just finished filling out an adoption app. on the Second Chance site and saw your awesome video. Your choices of music and photos just hit me right at home..I lost my 150lb sweetest, goofiest man(also a rescue)Genghis to an inoperable spinal tumor, 1.5yrs ago. I and the other members of my family (also rescues, australian and pit)
will miss him forever! Right on to you..rotts as well as pits are SO misunderstood and so easily tossed out..Thank-you for your video and for your compassion!

    Please think!Do not …
Please think!Do not base your judement on what you See or read-get to know this breed and you will most likely be so surprised!Educate yourself-all dogs can bite and can attack! But its a better story to say a rot attacked or pit than “Mrs Johnson 13 yr old pomeranian Mr.Fluffers randomly attacked Fred Jones yesterday when he approached her house to borrow a cuppa milk” because then everyone would laugh!Did you see fred running? It just more sensational if the dog is big allready has a bad rep!

    Hes a very willing …
Hes a very willing dig partner and when he was younger a enthusiastic tastetester for all sorts of “cakes” and “pies”-people who would support this ban-take time to get to know a socialized and loved rott-not the one you see on the news that guarantees a “good” story or sensational headline! These dogs have long been service dogs-search and rescue-and police partners! That takes dedication-loyalty-intelligence-love of people-and a steady rock solid temperment!Think people!

    We as a family …
We as a family would not be complete if someone were to tell us a member no longer could be with us because of breed-thats kind of like well youre the wrong color or sex to be here.If they want to ban because of unstable or vicious temperment-there are plenty of dogs like that-it shouldn’t be everyone punished for the actions of a few. These dogs do very well in temperment tests-scoring higher than most people realize-even higher than “Family” dogs-like beagles and retrievers

    You cannot expect a …
You cannot expect a dog that is kept locked up and never shown any different than 1 spot to not react to new people and situations!Any dog done this way will not be friendly and accepting or a good pet-regardless of size, breed,or age!My 7 yr old plays with our dog everyday-I have never worried that he would hurt her!She walks him around-and he LOVES to get in her sand turtle-she gets mad because it gets kind of squished-

    Thank you for all …
Thank you for all the work you are doing-I own a 3 yr old male-we rescued him at 5 wks. had him neutered and he’s a wonderful 120 pd.doofus who loves our family unconditionally.Because of his situation he even kept his tail intact! He is sleeping at my feet as I type-this breed CAN be a great family dog!Socialize!Socialize!Socialize!

    Thank you so much …
Thank you so much for doing such noble deeds for a noble breed.I have a rottie now and he’s my best friend. And hes always happy to see me…If i could I would take in as many as i could. These dogs are so much more than the media portrays .And we need to show how wrong the media and governments are in banning the dogs. Ban the owners who mistreat them..not the innocent animal.
