Does Anyone Know Where I Can Find a Male Rottweiler?

Don't make the same mistakes I made with my Rottweiler!

I am looking for a male rottweiler that has been fixed and has had all his shots. Any suggestions? Also what are good protective dogs besides a rottweiler?
Oh yes I do want a dog for a companion also who is a good family dog.

Try Rottweiler Rescue.

You will need to go to a shelter if you want one that is already neutered and has had his shots. But a dog should be bought predominantly to be a companion. While they can serve to protect, that should not be the sole purpose of buying one, unless you buy a professionally trained and licensed guard dog, but they cost thousands.

Check with a shelter or a rescue. By the way, my Rottweiler was so good at protecting our property that she let the intruders in while I was at the store. I came home to find them in the house with my dog giving kisses. The local police had a good laugh. I was a better protective agent than my dog.
She was just that…a great family dog.

This is a hard dog to pick out. You say you want a family dog, but I wouldnt’ recommend a rottweiler if you have small children around your house – especially if you’ve never had this breed before. Rotts always get the wrong reputation.
Yes, if bred poorly, they will rip intruders to shreds and cause chaos in your house. However, many of them will cower at any noise that they can’t identify.
If they’re to hyper, they’ll hurt kids by being to hyper and knocking them over. If he’s aggressive, he’ll bite them if they aggrivate him. If he’s shy or scared, he’ll hurt them if they startle him.
Basically, rottweilers are bred poorly a lot of the time, so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have or are going to have children.
-Huskies are protective, but also dig and are too clever – they won’t listen to you if they dont’ feel like it.
-Dalmations are good watchdogs and love people, but they need A LOT of excersise and can turn aggressive if they dont get it.
-Dobermans can be protective, but are also bred poorly and will sometimes grow into agression issues.
I’m not sure why you want a protective dog… not a good thing.
    Great family dogs:
    -Golden Retrievers
    -Cocker Spaniels
    -Black, Chocolate, or Yellow Labs

Having a "protective" dog is almost a sure fire way to get a law suit. If you can’t even come up with a place to find a male rottweiler that has been fixed and vaccinated then you have no business getting this breed. People like you are the reason these kinds of dogs are getting banned left and right.

If you want protection I suggest getting an alarm system or a gun.

As far as a family dog goes get a Newfoundland.

I would def check your local shelter. I adopted a full blooded rott w/papers. He was set to be put down seeing no one wanted him due to his size. He was only 3 years old. He was the best dare dog I’ve ever had. I got him when i first got married & my kids grew up with him. However, i had to pay for him to get fixed. The APL took him to the vet & i picked him up when his surgery was done. If the shelter dose not have any, look into rescue groups. Where do you live? I know of one.

Try the pound! They have dogs being put down everyday and dont have homes, most of them are already trained and have all of their shots I’d suggest you go and check them out. I think that other protective dogs would be german shepards and dobermans..

You can look for responsible breeders on our site. We have over 700 purebred breeders all over North America. You can find many responsible breeders online, just make sure you visit the breeder and not make payments online if possible and do some research. If you cannot visit a breeder, ask for references.
