I have a 13 week old German Rottweiler how can I teach her to potty outside? She already potty’s outside but she also potty’s inside during the night while i am asleep. I don’t want to crate train her i only put her in her crate when i am not home and she don’t mess up the crate! So how can i teach her not to potty in the house? any ideas suggestions?
Attach a bell to the door handle and train her to ring the bell when she needs out.
Start training her with the bell during the daytime. When you take her out ring the bell attached to the door so she associates the bell with "potty time". This will take some time but once she learns it she’ll be ringing the bell like Christmas morning!

This is what we did and it worked. We would bribe her to the door with a treat.Let her out and when she does her business we give her another treat. Keep doing this for a while, like a month. Even though she will learn pretty fast, you still want to continue. We still give our Basset hound Sage a treat when she does her business cause she’s so darn cute! She now goes to the door and scratches it to let us know she wants to go out.

Such young dogs can only go about 2-3 hours with out needing to go outside. If you are leaving him all night it is inevitable that he will go inside. You need to get up at regular intervals to let him and reward him when he goes to the toilet, this will train him that he must always go outside not just during the day. If we wakes you to ask to go out he should also be rewarded, so that way you will over time only need to gt up when he needs to go. As he gets older he will be able to go for longer until he can last the night.
