I have a 3 month rottweiler and he doesn't like to take walks. i have to drag him out onto the street for him to start walking and sometimes he just sits their wanting to head back home. What can i do so that he enjoys going out?
Puppies go through "fear periods" and if you make him afraid of the traffic during one of those times then you will have a hard job putting it right.
I suggest that you take him just out the front and sit and watch the world go by for a little while, and then progress a bit further.
Rotties absolutely must not have too much walking anyway. Only about 15 minutes per day at his age. Add only 5 minutes per month and build up gradually otherwise you will be in for problems.
I know there is differences of opinion in exercise but rotties are my breed and have been for 20 yrs. I had 12 foster pups in to me in the last year.
Please never drag him — you won't win a mental battle with a rottie that way. You have to persuade him that it'll be nice.
